With the emergence of cyberspace and sites like 'secondlife' our lives are changing as we are beginning to live more online and less offline. We can buy and sell virtual spaces and build houses and sports fields in these imaginary spaces. Basically we can have a lauxerious life online for a cheap price unlike in the real world. It would be no surprise that in the near future we would have online concerts and our avatars attending those concerts while the stars appear in their own avatars playing their music live from their own homes or studios. It would be interesting to see people's psychological reaction to that and perhpas see if online concerts would be as popular as concerts in real life. However our online world is very close to becoming our real world and I don't think that the future generations of post-modern world would have any problems or any moral concerns of attending an online concert . As I watched 'Modulation' in the AV library today I realized that it is true that we are a generation of imaginations and we love to imagine the world the way we want it to be. If electronic music devices, colours, and graphics can fulfil our demand for imagination then attending a concert online in a imaginary world with imaginary people and imaginary clothing and styles can definately fulfil our
cravings for live music and imaginations.
