Freestyling

On viewing the documentary called, Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme, it makes me wonder whether today's hip hop stars are true authentic hip hop artists as defined in this film. The documentary discusses freestyling and how it is the true authentic style of rapping and if you can't do it you don't have the right to rhyme. They claim that anyone can do written verse but it takes true skills to freestyle on the spot. This leads to the point of how many hip hop stars that we see on TV are able to battle on the streets or are they what they are accused of, sell outs and becoming commercial.
