The videos are then distributed over the internet through sites like Youtube as fan created tributes to their favourite Anime. These clips allow for the videos creators to reinterpret the meanings of both the original Anime text as well as the song that it is joined with to create a new text. The finished videos go beyond the conventions of both genres and creating something completely new. The ease of digitising and editing AMV's really show how flexible the boundaries between texts are in the modern world are, making them a good example of the trans-morphing discussed in the Barry Sandwell and David Beer article. The article describes trans-morphing as “when a performer morphs across several genres.” By linking the artist performing the song with the Anime hero shown in the visual accompanyment the videos maker creates a performer that morphs between the two genres and takes meanings from both.
