MTV kill the Music Video Star

After I read through the article about MTV killed the Music Video Star, I am totally agree that the MTV has pretty much kill the video stars, after the invention of television, people do not just hear the songs but see the image of the stars. But because of the invention of the television, stars do not just focus on their song, but on their appearance and chic outfit, therefore it gives an opportunities for MTV to manipulate these stars, MTV are now packaging and breeding the artists which produce the image that the MTV wish them to be in order to fulfill the desire of the audiences, such as Britney Spears as her image of girl next door, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ image as a rock band, and Pink as a rebelish girl. The images of these artists had been fixed by MTV, therefore the song they sing and write shall not be too far from their image, and this has pretty much killed some talent artists who are not specialized in this genre of music and also being commercialized by MTV. Also, the glittery dress of the stars and the attractive music clip, people often buys the album because of the plot or the impression of the video, even when they find out that the song actually isn’t that attractive, but together with the video, it can be acceptable by the viewers, and often people find out they remember the video clip more than the songs, that is why many artists now like to spend a lot of time on producing the video clip, and this has drag down the quality of the music, and this is why I agree MTV has kill the Music Video Star
